2009 | Mechtild Frisch

Mechtild Frisch

The Robert Rauschenberg picture is part of the “Löcher partout” series by Mechtild Frisch. ”The “Löcher partout” consists of postcards of artwork that either belongs to the Museum Ludwig collection or has been displayed at the museum as part of an exhibition. Using a hole punch, Mechtild Frisch transformed the original cards by perforating them to produce delicate transparent images. The perforations put a different perspective on the original works, set new focuses and highlight details, thus transforming them into new works of art.

How many holes can be punched into an image before viewers are no longer capable of automatically filling in the gaps and instead perceive a completely new image?

43 unique copies evolved in the context of a cooperation with the Museum Ludwig exclusively for rheingold. Framed in glass and maple, these copies can be acquired by purchase from Museum Ludwig. The “Löcher partout” series also can be viewed in Museum Ludwig in Cologne until 12/23/2009.

rheingold charitable donation

Also this year we have once again decided to financially support a charitable project. This year our donation goes to “Aktion Lichtblicke”.

It would give us great pleasure, if you will also decide for a donation.
